Every February, Fond du Lac kicks off Wisconsin's 16-day sturgeon spearing season with the Sturgeon Spectacular, a three-day winter festival that draws 10,000 to 15,000 participants to the ice on Lake Winnebago. All run by a 501(c)(3) on volunteer labor.
