Move to Marion

Marion is a city full of people committed to the things that matter: their community and the people in it.

When we visited we were so lucky to get a personalized tour of the city from Kylie, the CEO of the Greater Grant County Chamber of Commerce, and Kayla, the Neighborhood Association Coordinator for the City of Marion. We jumped in Kylie’s car and she showed us all the best spots: the community garden close to her home where neighbors with all levels of experience are gardening together; the bench by the Mississinewa River, where veterans gather daily to catch up and watch the river go by; Matter Park, which is a multiple-time recipient of the Proven Winners Signature Garden Award, and includes a children’s garden and the butterfly garden. We ended our tour by driving by a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (which you can rent on AirBnB!).

We also met with a couple of other folks while we were in town: like Michael and Matt (see the video above!), who own businesses in the same building downtown. Michael owns and operates Marion Cycle Works on the first floor, while Matt has a record shop in the basement, called Psychedelic Cellar (be sure to get a recommendation from Matt when you stop in, the MakeMyMove team can’t stop listening to the albums he recommended).

There’s so much to love about Marion and there are even more locals to show you why Marion would be a great place to call home.
