Description
The Community Foundation for Muskegon County (Michigan) is promoting a Welcome Home Scholarship, up to $15,000, for new teachers who accept positions with licensed daycare or in-person Pre-K – 12 public and charter employers.
Eligible applicants must accept a position with a qualified employer located within Muskegon County. Applicants must also provide proof of residency (purchase or lease) within Muskegon County. Awards will be paid quarterly over the course of 3 years.
Muskegon County is located on Lake Michigan with 26 miles of beaches. The county is home to about 180,000 residents year-round residents and welcomes thousands of visitors each summer.
Eligible applicants cannot already live within Muskegon County and would be limited to graduates or returning professionals with the following criteria:
Two and four-year early childhood certificates
Pre-K – 12 educators
Ancillary staff: school social workers, school speech pathologists, school psychologists, and other necessary staff positions requiring a two or four-year degree or certification .
Special consideration to those in high demand positions: early childhood, special education, and ancillary staff.
Applicants may not be living within the county when the award decision is made.
Graduating college students returning to Muskegon County are eligible.
