During our time in White County, Rick and Debbie Read gave us a tour of some of their favorite spots: Rotary Centennial Park, where you can go on an owl hike, or from the shore of Lake Freeman where you can watch bird migrations over the lake.

Rick and Debbie also showed us around downtown Monticello, where there are some incredible homes (one of them recently renovated and for sale!).

Grab a drink on Indiana’s largest boat, the Madam Carroll! 

While you’re there you should chat with Chris Peters. He moved back to White County after living on the east coast so that he could invest in and help grow his community. He’s doing great things with the Madam Carroll: it’s now open year-round and he hosts a ton of events (you might find the Easter bunny skiing behind the boat in the spring).

If you move to White County, you’ll find a community that combines lakeside living with forward thinking investments. You’ll find folks who have relocated to live on the lake and folks who have returned to be a part of White County’s future. White County is ready for you to be on lake time, full time.

My Welcome to White County

Semi-retiring Active duty Army officer, retiring out of Colorado Springs, CO. This program is bringing back to the midwest and closer to my family and allowing me to work from home while I assist setting up Gameday Men's Health franchises within Indiana. I was accepted to White County and was able to find a working Dog Kennel and farm house with rooms available to rent while I build a home in county. Now I get to network, work from home and have access to play with all the local dogs at Riverdog Camp.
