Community in Muncie, Indiana

so I decided to make the move to Muncie IN and I can honestly say it was the best decision that I’ve ever made. The area is nice that people are nice. The Make my move team made me feel real comfortable and it was easy. I would recommend it to anybody. Make my move made it simple easy and the perks are great. I think it’s the one in the lifetime opportunity and I recommend anybody and I’ve recommended my friends to this company.

I moved from Portland, Oregon to Muncie, Indiana almost 4 months ago. I drove over 2,000 miles with two kids and two cats in 4 days-it was quiet the adventure! I've lived on the West Coast all my life and never experienced the Midwest until now. I thought I was leaving the most beautiful place but I'm very happy to say that Muncie is even more green than the Pacific Northwest! I haven't had to water my yard a single time and not one blade of grass is brown, it's amazing. I've gotten to see lightening bugs for the first time which has given me a child like joy I almost can't describe. It's just magical seeing them light up! Several neighbors on my street are also new to the neighborhood which is neat. I've met loads of very kind people. It's easy to navigate the city and it's been a lot of fun exploring different parks. I'm really pleasantly surprised by the number of beautiful parks here. I'm also surprised by the abundance of wildlife. I've never heard so many bird songs and can't even tell you all the things that chirp and sing at night! I have seen prairie dogs and bunnies in my backyard and I'm actually in the city, not in the country! As I expected, the humidity is no joke. It's prob a good idea to buy a home with AC. I didn't do that and I'm counting the days when I can afford to have central air installed!! Thankfully there are a lot of places around to cool off from public pools and splash pads to rivers and lakes. Did you know Indiana has 22 waterfalls? It's on my bucket list to see every single one of them. I'm glad we moved here. It's beautiful, easy pace, and kind people - what more could I ask for?

We made the tough decision to move our family from North Carolina due to the rising cost of living, and while we absolutely love our home state, it was becoming too financially draining. One evening, while browsing online, I came across an ad for Make My Move and decided to give it a closer look. That was, without a doubt, a great decision!

It’s been just over a year since we began the process, and thanks to Kendall and the entire team, the transition was smooth and straightforward from start to finish. Since moving to our new state, our kids have been able to return to the activities they loved but had to give up due to costs. We've also become involved in local community improvement meetings, which has made us feel more connected and engaged.

Growing up in Muncie, the one thing that was on your mind during the week was, "when is my family be going out to eat at Puerto." This is by far the best Mexican place in town. The Tillotson location was my family's stomping ground as a kid, I don't think we missed a week going there. For starters getting there early on a Friday/Saturday night when the Ball State students are back in town is a must, it's always packed. Starting off, the chips and salsa are phenomenal, when you're young it was hard not to keep eating them until you were full before your meal even came, with age comes experience and I eventually got passed those growing pains, (might I add the chips and salsa are free, huge bonus, +1 on the scorecard). The real stars came to play when it was time to order though, the queso is unbelievable, I'm not lying when I say this I have yet to try a queso that even can compete with it, and foodwise you can't go wrong. Any combination of their tacos, enchiladas, or chimichangas won't be a miss. If you're in the mood to share, the fajitas that come out steaming are a great route to go. Honestly the chicken and steak fajita is now my go to. Overall, Puerto is what every hometown Mexican restaurant strives to be, but I have yet to go to one that competes with them. They're friendly, fast, the quality of the food is great, and the overall ambiance is a 10/10 (Mariachi night is a must see normally happens about once a month). My rating for this restaurant is a 9.9/10, the only problem that I have with them is they don't have a location in Indianapolis which is where I reside now.
